Altu is a dynamic platform designed to revolutionize the way volunteers engage with non-profit causes, amplifying their impact and driving meaningful change. Our mission is to confront the challenges faced by non-profit organisations head-on, addressing issues such as transparency deficits, operational inefficiencies, and limited community engagement.
At Altu, volunteers have access to a user-friendly interface where they can seamlessly connect with causes aligned with their passions and skills. Through meticulous tracking of their contributions and milestones, volunteers can see the tangible impact of their efforts, propelling progress towards ambitious objectives.
One of Altu's key features is its emphasis on transparency and accountability. By providing volunteers with tools to track their contributions and organisations with insights into resource allocation, Altu fosters a culture of trust and accountability within the non-profit sector

My role:
 As the main designer for Altu, I played a pivotal role in shaping the brand identity, UX/UI design, product development, and conceptualization of the platform. Drawing on my expertise in design strategy and user-centered design principles, I led the creative direction of Altu, ensuring that every aspect of the platform reflected our core values and goals. From crafting the visual identity and user interface to conducting user research and iterating on design prototypes, my role encompassed a wide range of responsibilities aimed at delivering an intuitive, engaging, and impactful user experience. By leveraging my skills in brand design, UX/UI design, and conceptualization, I contributed to creating a platform that not only meets the needs of volunteers and non-profit organizations but also inspires positive social change.

I took charge of creating all illustrations, animations, and videos for the platform. Leveraging my expertise in visual storytelling and multimedia production, I brought the Altu brand to life through captivating visuals that resonated with our audience.

Research Phase:
In the initial stages of Altu's development, we conducted extensive research to understand the needs and preferences of both volunteers and non-profit organizations in Norway. Our research included in-depth interviews with over 100 volunteers from diverse backgrounds, as well as consultations with key non-profit organizations across the country.
Through these interviews and discussions, we gained valuable insights into the challenges faced by volunteers when seeking opportunities to contribute to social causes, as well as the pain points experienced by non-profit organizations in recruiting and managing volunteers effectively.
Design Phase:
Armed with insights from our research, we embarked on the design phase of Altu, focusing on creating a user experience that would streamline the process of connecting volunteers with non-profit causes. Our design approach prioritized simplicity, accessibility, and intuitive navigation to ensure that users could easily find and engage with opportunities aligned with their interests and skills.
Key features of Altu's UX/UI design include:
User-Friendly Interface: We designed Altu's interface to be clean, intuitive, and easy to navigate, ensuring that both volunteers and non-profit organizations could quickly access the information they need.
Personalized Matching: Leveraging insights from our research, we implemented a personalized matching algorithm that recommends volunteer opportunities based on users' interests, skills, and availability.
Transparent Tracking: To enhance transparency and accountability, we developed robust tracking features that allow volunteers to monitor their contributions and organizations to track the impact of volunteer efforts in real-time.
Collaborative Tools: Altu includes collaborative tools such as messaging and task management functionalities, facilitating seamless communication and coordination between volunteers and organizations.
Organization Dashboard: Empowering Non-Profits to Create Impactful Projects

The Organization Dashboard on Altu provides non-profit organizations in Norway with a powerful tool to create and manage projects, breaking them down into smaller, more manageable tasks that are tailored to local communities. This approach increases the likelihood of project completion while fostering community engagement and empowerment.
Key Features:
Project Creation: Organizations can easily create new projects from the dashboard, outlining the objectives, scope, and desired outcomes. Projects can range from large-scale initiatives to smaller, localized efforts aimed at addressing specific community needs.
Task Management: Within each project, organizations can divide the tasks into smaller "bites" that are more feasible for volunteers to complete. Tasks are categorized based on their nature, location, and level of complexity, allowing organizations to effectively delegate responsibilities and track progress.
Localization: Altu's platform allows organizations to tailor projects and tasks to specific geographic locations, ensuring that initiatives are aligned with the needs and priorities of local communities. This localization approach increases community buy-in and fosters a sense of ownership among residents.
Community Engagement: The Organization Dashboard includes features to promote community engagement, such as forums, polls, and event listings. Organizations can use these tools to solicit feedback, recruit volunteers, and raise awareness about their projects within the community.
Real-Time Monitoring: Altu provides organizations with real-time monitoring and analytics tools to track the progress of projects and tasks. Organizations can view metrics such as task completion rates, volunteer engagement levels, and impact metrics, allowing them to make data-driven decisions and adjust strategies as needed.

Browse and Join: Volunteers can easily browse through a curated list of volunteer opportunities, filtered by category, location, and time commitment. With just a few taps, users can join projects that resonate with them, empowering them to take action and make a difference in their communities.
Task Management: Once volunteers join a project, they can view and manage tasks directly from the app. Tasks are organized by project and categorized based on their nature, making it easy for volunteers to stay organized and track their progress.
Real-Time Updates: Altu's mobile app provides volunteers with real-time updates and notifications about project developments, task assignments, and upcoming events. This ensures that volunteers stay informed and engaged throughout their volunteer journey.
Community Engagement: The app includes features for fostering community engagement, such as discussion forums, photo sharing, and event calendars. Volunteers can connect with fellow volunteers, share their experiences, and stay connected to the broader Altu community.
Impact Tracking: Altu enables volunteers to track their impact over time, including hours volunteered, tasks completed, and the overall contribution to projects and causes. This feature allows volunteers to see the tangible difference they're making and provides organizations with valuable insights into volunteer engagement.
